Mother Mental Conditions Influence Baby Talking Ability

Professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia, Janet Werker, recently explained that every child born has the ability to learn any language. Similarly, the baby can distinguish the sounds of different languages. However, at the age of 6 to 10 months, they began to notice more voices from their mother tongue language than other language.

In the latest research, Werker and colleagues tested the language skills babies born from mothers who are free from depression to differentiate between consonant sounds of a language other than their mother tongue. As a result, the infants of mothers without depression show good patterns of language development. The babies can distinguish the consonant sounds at the age of 6 months, but at the age of 10 months they will lose this ability.

Thus, due to the effects of maternal mental health effect on their babies, if the mothers want her baby to grow with normal language intelligence, they expected to manage stress, with healthy lifestyle and healthy mindset. (Myhealthnewsdaily)
