The good news for those of you who are overweight or obese. There has been anti-obesity drug that you can eat to help you lose weight. Of course, anti-obesity drugs is different from just supplement that has been widely circulated in the market.
After being rejected for production in 2000, the National Agency U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has finally allow tablet known as Belviq to be produced and marketed.
Clinically, tablets containing lorcaserin hydrochloride was shown to help people lose weight to about 5 percent. However, limited only be used by adults who are obese or overweight with at least one health problem and with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater.
The tablet is scheduled to be launched in 2013 is designed to block appetite signals in the brain, which can make the patient feel fuller with a little amount of food.
However, there are side effects of Belviq including depression, migraines and memory impairment. And the FDA also said the drug should not be used for more than 12 weeks if the weight loss of 5 percent does not happen.
So, for those of you who want to lose weight more quickly, then the anti-obesity tablets can help you. But do not forget that we attempt to lose weight in a natural way, such as exercising or eating patterns. For chemical drugs must however have side effects on our bodies. (BBC)
