Many ways to cope with depression, which do not need to go to a psychologist or taking tranquilizers. According to some studies, depression can be treated with a cuddle. Really?

Scientists at UC San Diego School of Medicine conduct randomized clinical trial, and feel optimistic about the effect of oxytocin on depression. "Basically, what we see in studies involving animals and humans, indicating there is a reason why oxytocin plays a role in some types of depression," said Dr. Kai MacDonald, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Oxytocin sometimes called the 'cuddle chemical' or 'love hormone'. The reason is because it is produced by the brain when people perform physical intimacy, as well as the time of delivery. But new research explores that oxytocin not only affect what people feel, but also the way people behave.

Someone who receive oxytocin would have the same feelings, but his behavior changed. 'Love hormone' that encourages people to behave well, such as helping, providing empathy, and more friendly. This was evidenced in a study published in the journal Public Library of Science ONE. Study participants who inhale oxytocin or placebo through their noses tend to be generous to others.
