Heartache Cause Physical Pain

 
Although the heartache is only used as a term for people who experience extreme distress and psychological injury, but studies have shown that heartache can actually cause physical pain.

The results have been published in the journal Current Directions in Psychological Science, found that the brains of people who experience heartache and social rejection showed activity similar to the experience of physical pain. Then, in another study showed that heartache actually causes a higher risk of heart attack. People who heartache 21 times higher risk of having a heart attack in the first weeks after mourning or breakup.

So severe, there is a condition called broken heart syndrome, or also known as stress cardiomyopathy. In this condition, the heart muscle is weakened due to extreme stress, such as those derived from deep sadness. (Huffingtonpost)
